Could It Be is played during the final prom scene of So the Drama[1] and the opening scene of Ill-suited[2] and is sung by Christy Carlson Romano.

Lyrics[]

I know we've been friends forever
But now I think I'm feeling something totally new
And after all this time I opened up my eyes
Now I see you were always with me

Could it be lyrics (full)- Christy Carlson Romano-0

[Chorus]
Could it be you and I
Never imagined
Could it be suddenly I'm fallin' for you (I am falling)
Could it be you were right here beside me and I never knew
Could it be that it's true
that it's you, that it's you

It's kinda funny you were always near
But who would ever thought that we'd end up here
And every time I needed you, you've been there for me
so now it's clear I've been waiting for you

[Chorus]
Could it be you and I
Never imagined
Could it be suddenly I'm fallin' for you (I am falling)
Could it be you were right here beside me and I never knew
Could it be that it's true
that it's you, that it's you

'Cause today is the start of the rest of our lives I can see it in your eyes
Oh, but it's real, and it's true
And it's just me and you
Could it be that it's you
Could it be that it's you

Could it be you and I
Never imagined
Could it be suddenly I'm fallin' for you (I am falling)
Could it be you were right here beside me and I never knew
Could it be that it's true
that it's you, that it's you

Meaning[]

It seems obvious that it the song is about Kim realizing that she has feelings for Ron that she never noticed before.

Originally the final scene from So the Drama in which the song plays was meant to be the end of the series, closing off neatly with Ron and Kim officially becoming a couple. However, due to fan demand it was followed up with a forth season - the first episode of which opens with this song.
