|"The Golden Years"|
"Nana" Possible is the mother of Dr. James Possible, and grandmother of Kim Possible. Much like Kim, she once lived a life full of adventure and danger. As a result, she tends to be concerned for Kim's lifestyle at the least, and overprotective at the most.
Nana tends to be very old-fashioned in her way of thinking. This is most evident in her treatment of Kim, who she insists on referring to as "Kimberly Ann", and takes much pleasure in dressing up in sundresses and overly large sweaters.
According to Dr. Drakken's research, at Kim's age Nana trained with Shaolin monks and perfected the ancient art of Pang Lang Quan Kung Fu. She then became a top aviatrix, and was the first woman to complete the navy's underwater-demolition training program. If nothing else, Nana clearly still retains much of her martial arts prowess.
Her friends at Chez Leisure included Mr. Simmons, Mr. Stanley, and Mrs. Greenfield.
From "The Golden Years"Edit
- Nana: Kimberley Ann Possible, you can't walk around with your bellybutton poking out like that. This is Florida, dear, not Las Vegas.
Behind the ScenesEdit
She is voiced by Debbie Reynolds.
"Nana" Possible is the mother of James Possible and Slim Possible, and grandmother of Kim Possible, Jim and Tim Possible, and Joss Possible. Much like her granddaughter, she has excellent martial arts skills, having trained in Pang Lang Quan Kung Fu in a Shaolin Monastery.
She always calls her granddaughter by her given name of Kimberly. She also believed at first that Kim's "saving the world" is just a phase and will grow out of it, before coming to understand that Kim's saving the world is actually a lifestyle. Initially she refused to see Kim as a teenager, insisting on dressing her in sweaters because she felt the habit of exposing her midriff was not a good idea.
When Nana wants to ignore something, she will turn her hearing aid off, such as when Kim tried to justify her being a hero.
At first, Kim felt that it was because her grandmother was behind the times and did not understand her. It was only when Drakken pitted them against each other through a mind control signal in the hearing aids of all of the area's senior citizens that Kim learned the truth.
It then became apparent that Nana's objections came from the fact that she knew how dangerous such a lifestyle could be and that even grandparents would like something better for their grandchildren. She may have also seen a little too much of herself in her granddaughter (which she had known all along, as she had been Kim's age once). However it was not until Nana could see for herself that Kim was more than capable of holding her own that she generally became more accepting.
