Plot Summary[]

Mission[]

Retrieve Ray X from Shego and Dr. Drakken.

Personal Storyline[]

Kim and Ron were doing their homework one evening, until they were interrupted by Jim and Tim sneezing and asking for more chicken noodle soup. While their mom was giving her twin sons more soup, Kim suggested that they study at his house, but he disagreed. But the next morning, Kim was in bed, because she caught the cold too soon and Wade explained that she was infected via touching the tabletop when she gives her brother a tissue and touching her mouth on purpose. When Ron asked how she’s doing, she answered, "I can’t breathe through my nose." After Kim asked Wade if she could talk to the two scientists, there they are! They explained their latest invention, Ray X, and her mission is to protect it from Dr. Drakken and Shego, she and Ron accept and Kim went to change her clothes.

However, Kim kept on sneezing and Ron tells her he heard a sneezing alarm, and Kim explained it’s her sneezing nonstop, but she didn’t notice Dr. Drakken and Shego parking their spaceship in the security cameras. Drakken said, "Shego, in a few moments, the Ray X will be ours." When his accomplice asked what the ray does, Drakken said he has no idea. Soon, Shego noticed Kim’s gear, and Drakken explained his plan (which he drew myself): "Find the way in the museum and steal the machine". After finding out Kim has a cold, the villainous pair decided to find another entrance without Kim noticing, and Drakken agreed.

Soon, the two villains snuck in while Kim continued to sneeze into the same tissue, and got their hands on Ray X. However, alarms went off and doors automatically shut. "Visiting hours are over," Kim declared. Then, she instructs Ron on the Kimmunicator to "meet her at the main entrance. I got Drakken." Ron was confused at first, but he got the picture, anyway. Drakken claims that he thinks Ray X does something bad to Kim. Shego uses her energy blasts on Kim, but the latter dodges them quickly and the fire alarms went off. Both females are drenched with water as they continue to spar, and Kim announces that she needs to cover her mouth to sneeze. "Nice try, Kimmie," Shego sneered with an evil smirk on her face. Kim sneezed on Shego’s face and the museum doors opened moments later. "You should’ve stayed in bed, Kim Possible," Dr. Drakken warned as he and Shego escaped with the Ray X. Ron arrived with Rufus and he asked where the villains were, and Kim said nothing.

Meanwhile, back at the lab, Drakken asked Shego what are they doing to do with Ray X, but when he answered the phone, Shego announced that she caught Kim’s cold on purpose and sneezed into her hands. That forces the angry doctor to find a temporary cohort (and shudders at an offscreen villain) and found Killigan, because he likes to work cheap. Back at Ron’s residence, Ron thought it was his grandmother on the phone, only to find out that it’s Kim he’s talking to. She explains to her best friend, "Listen, my mom is cranked when I went out sick." Ron assures her that he and Rufus are taking on Drakken by themselves and hangs up. Kim blew her nose into a tissue and asked her mom for some soup.

Ron explained "Operation: Ray X" to the rather reluctant Rufus. Fortunately, the duo found the Dr. Drakken's lair and tiptoed to find the Ray X. Meanwhile, Killigan tells Drakken the latter agreed with equal partnership, but when Drakken offers the role "co-Villain", Killigan refused. Ron was about to escape, where he encountered the still flu-stricken Shego, who sneezed on him. As he puts Ray X in the pantry at Kim’s house, he rants about Shego’s germs.

After a moment of bragging about being immune and stuff, Ron ended up being sick, like poor Kim. "Fortune of Immunity, huh?" teases Kim. Meanwhile, after Killigan asked Drakken’s hard bargain, Drakken vowed for the pair to be unstoppable, but he sneezed mid-sentence, putting him in bed with the same flu. After the evil doctor tells his partner he can’t fulfill his responsibilities alone, Killigan tells him, "One Step ahead of you”, as he hired a "temporary lackey". And when he answers the door, we meet the rather career-oriented man named Hank Perkins. When he was asked about his previous experiences as a villain, Hank answered, "No, but I’m a self-starter, and I have a law degree." Impressed, Killigan said, "Close Enough", thus letting his new apprentice inside.

Back at the Possible residence, Kim and Ron watch a sci-fi soap opera on television when Ron decides to get more soup, only to realize Hank and Killigan stole the Ray X. The pair later wondered who can save the day when the Tweebs bravely step in to help. Meanwhile, we learn that Duff Killigan got sick offscreen and does a play-by-play with Drakken about the soap opera.

The good news is the twins and Rufus found Ray-X while Hank was talking on the phone, but before they could escape, they were trapped in an iron cage! Kim contacted Wade, asking him to give her a ride. Later, Tim, Jim, and Rufus have their hands and paws in iron handcuffs, but Kim manages to rescue them and the nearly better Shego was defeated. And before Hank could resign, a chandelier fell on him, and our heroes returned Ray-X, safe and sound.

And when asked about Ray-X’s purpose, the two scientists said in unison, "Cure the common cold!”, prompting Ron to announce that he hates irony, and the episode ends.

Allusions[]

  • Drakken mentioned the lyrics of the Pointer Sisters song, "I’m so excited, and I just can’t hide it" when he got his hands on Ray X.
  • Wade said, "Whoop, there it is", a reference to the song with the same name when Kim touched her mouth.
  • The Soap Opera Kim, Ron, Drakken, and Killigan were watching may be an allusion to the previous episode "Mind Games" where Kim switched brains with Ron.

Trivia[]

  • Running Gag: Everyone catching the same common cold and being forced into bed, albeit different times. The order is simple if you pay attention: Tim and Jim, Kim, Shego, Ron, Drakken, and finally Duff Killigan.
  • Kim’s mother, Rufus, Hank Perkins, the two scientists, and Wade resisted the common cold.
  • This is the fourth time Drakken teamed up with Killigan, whose fifth appearance is this episode.
  • Ron temporarily left for the mission without Kim for the fourth time.
  • Jim and Tim were the only two characters who managed to cure their sicknesses for a while.

Errors[]

  • At the beginning of the episode, the tall scientist was wearing his glasses on Kim’s Kimunicator, but they were gradually gone at the end.
  • When Ron notices Killigan and Hank Perkins with the machine, he exits Kim’s house, but in the next scene, the house was in front of him.
